Game Of Thrones' Aidan Gillen Cast In Bohemian Rhapsody
Aidan Gillen will go from the realm of one queen to the realm of the band Queen.
Deadline reports that Gillen, who played Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish on Game of Thrones, has signed on for Bohemian Rhapsody, the upcoming biopic about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Gillen will play John Reid, the band's manager from 1975 to 1978.
Tom Hollander (The Night Manager, Taboo) has also joined the cast to play Jim Beach, who took over as Queen's manager in 1978 and remained in the position for years.
Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) will star as Mercury in the flick from director Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects). The movie co-stars Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, Gwilym Lee as Brian May, Joe Mazzello as John Deacon, Lucy Boynton as Mercury's lifelong companion Mary Austin, Aaron McCusker as Mercury's lover Jim Hutton, and Allen Leech as Paul Prenter. Mike Myers is also on board.
Production is already underway and the movie is slated to arrive Christmas Day 2018. Get your first look at Malek as Mercury.
