Doctor Strange Has A Warning In New Thor: Ragnarok TV Spot

Doctor Strange has something ominous to say in the newest TV spot for Thor: Ragnarok. The movie will feature Benedict Cumberbatch's character in one of its few stops on earth, and it seems like he has something important to tell the titular hero.

"Destiny has dire plans for you, my friend," Strange can be seen briefly saying in the latest spot. "Well, I have dire plans for destiny," responds Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who is still rocking his long hair in the clip, hinting that the interaction happens before he gets banished to the desolate planet of Sakaar.

Thor gets sent to Sakaar after Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) lax rule on Asgard during his time masquerading as their missing father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) leads to the release of Cate Blanchett's Hela. The goddess of death unleashes hell on the planet, destroying Thor's hammer and banishing him to the far away land.

There, he is captured by Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who brings him to the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), a nefarious ruler who cuts off his hair and forces him to fight against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Although Marvel is saving the battle for the big screen, we do know that, eventually, the pair will escape and team up with Valkyrie and Loki for an intergalactic adventure to take down Hela.

Thor: Ragnarok is already projecting to break the box office with a $100 million or more opening weekend, and positive early reviews hint that it should have critics firmly in its corner as well. Although we'll have to wait for the film to be released to see how Doctor Strange plays in, Cumberbatch's involvement should be a fun piece of the space-set road trip.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi based on a script by Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle, and Chris Yost. The movie, which also stars Karl Urban and Rachel House, hits theaters on Nov. 3.
