The Punisher Premiere Date, New Trailer Revealed

The premiere date of The Punisher is no longer classified information.

Netflix will launch the 13-episode first season of the newest Marvel series on Nov. 17, according to a new trailer (above). The reveal comes just over two weeks after the New York Comic-Con panel for the show was canceled due to the Oct. 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas.

The premiere date remained a closely guarded secret ever since Netflix began working on the solo series starring Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) as vigilante Frank Castle. When Netflix sent out a press release last month, the release date was redacted. Previous teasers and trailers for the show also blurred the date.

The Punisher first appeared in Marvel comics in a 1974 issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. A former soldier who sees his family killed, he ruthlessly hunts down those responsible using the stealth tactics and weapons training he learned in the military. Bernthal debuted as the iconic Marvel character in the second season of Daredevil

The show also features Deborah Ann Woll, reprising her role as Karen Page from Daredevil and The Defenders, along with Ben Barnes (Westworld) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls).

Just like the first official trailer, the new one is set to "One" by Metallica.
