Get A Sneak Peek At The Walking Dead Season 8 Premiere

Get ready for "All Out War."

The eighth season of AMC's hit post-apocalyptic horror series The Walking Dead is just days away, and today, the network has unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming premiere to entice fans with what's to come. (Hint: There's chaos, warfare, and super-high stakes, naturally.)

Featuring Daryl (Norman Reedus), Carol (Melissa McBride), Morgan (Lennie James), and Tara (Alanna Masterson), the footage opens on the four lining up as a herd of zombies approach. "Pleasure doing business with you," Tara says to Morgan, hinting that the two may have collaborated to bring the group to Daryl and Carol. Fire and various other elements surround the foursome, which indicates that the walkers are being deliberately corralled to move into a single direction.

"Beat 'em," Morgan tells Daryl and Carol as he walks off with Tara. Carol promises that they will.

We then see Carol, who doesn't look like she has assimilated back into Alexandria on a permanent basis given the orange Kingdom armband she sports, hug Daryl goodbye and warn him to be careful. Before she heads to join Tara and Morgan, Carol notes that engaging in the impending All Out War with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors isn't going to be fun for anyone, but Daryl suggests that "it's better than letting things be." She solemnly tells him, "Yeah, it is."

The clip proves the Walking Dead crew are diving head-long into the war, knowing exactly what they have to lose, which will make the upcoming season all the more riveting.

Season eight of The Walking Dead also stars Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, Austin Amelio, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, and Khary Payton. The series will return to AMC for All Out War (and its landmark 100th episode) on Sunday, October 22.
