Anna Kendrick Shares First Look At Her Female Santa Claus Movie
Anna Kendrick is ready for her role as Santa Claus' daughter. The Pitch Perfect actress recently shared a first look at her upcoming film Nicole, featuring herself decked out in some perfectly holiday spirited, elven gear.
In the movie, Santa decides he's going to retire from his gift-giving duties and appoints his son to take over the annual Christmas doings. However, the boy is overwhelmed by the pressure of the task at hand, and his panic attack forces Santa's daughter to buck up and dole out presents around the world on Christmas Eve.
Kendrick's photo raises one interesting question about the film. Although the movie had previously been reported with the title Nicole, Kendrick captioned her Instagram post by writing "N O E L L E," which hints that the character (and the film) may have undergone a name change. Whatever it is titled, Kendrick's outfit makes the film look like it is sure to filled with festive fun.
Terms of Endearment's Shirley MacLaine is also set to star in the movie as Elf Polly, Nicole's (or Noelle's) nanny who raised her for her whole life. Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader also plays an undisclosed role, as does Billy on the Street's Billy Eichner. The movie will be written and directed by Miss Congeniality's Marc Lawrence and will hit theaters on Nov. 8, 2019.
