New Last Jedi Teaser Shows Luke Back In The Millennium Falcon
"Darkness rises... and light to meet it."
Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled a dazzling new look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi Wednesday night during Game 7 of the World Series.
The 45 second-long teaser opens on Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), whose face is shrouded in a dark cloak, revisiting a familiar place: the Millennium Falcon. Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) appears next, an obsidian scar marring his face. "Let the past die," he says, a phrase heard in the full-length trailer for the upcoming film. "That's the only way to become what you were meant to be."
What follows are a handful of shots shown in previous Last Jedi footage that then expand into space battles with the Millennium Falcon and a fleet of TIE Fighters.
But the closing moment of the new video is what will leave fans tingling with anticipation–and even a bit of worry. "This is not going to go the way you think," says Luke, seen laying on the ground as heavy rain falls over him. This shot is another one we have already been treated to, but immediately after, the teaser shifts to show something new: Rey (Daisy Ridley) standing in front of Luke, wearing a solemn face and her hair tousled out of her signature triple buns, pulling her lightsaber above the Jedi Master in what looks like a moment of victory over him. This brings a whole new meaning to "the last Jedi."
