Garret Dillahunt Cast In Fear The Walking Dead Season 4
This is every Walking Dead enthusiast's biggest dream come true.
Actor Garret Dillahunt, who is a massive fan of the acclaimed post-apocalyptic horror show, has been cast in the fourth season of Fear the Walking Dead, the prequel series created by Robert Kirkman (via The Hollywood Reporter). Details on Dillahunt's character are being kept secret as of right now, but we expect specifics to emerge after AMC finally announces a release date for the upcoming season.
Many will recognize Dillahunt from his work on Hulu's The Mindy Project, Fox's X-Men spinoff series The Gifted, Amazon's Hand of God, the TBS anthology The Guest Book, and Fox's Raising Hope. His involvement in Fear the Walking Dead comes at a crossroads in the show's evolution. Its previous showrunner, The Walking Dead developer Dave Erickson, left the series following the season three finale. Once Upon a Time creatives Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg are set to take over for Erickson in season four, and will be joined by The Walking Dead boss Scott M. Gimple, who serves as an executive producer. Some sources suggest that Fear the Walking Dead will shift its filming location as well, moving to Texas for season four in response to the show's new villain (Ray McKinnon) stating in the season three finale that he's taking off to "what's left of Houston" with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey).
The actor also joins Fear the Walking Dead after Cliff Curtis' Travis Manawa and Mercedes Mason's Ofelia Salazar were both killed off in season three. Here's to hoping that Dillahunt's character, whomever he may be, will survive the upcoming fourth season.
