Dave Chappelle's New Netflix Special To Drop New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve will truly be a celebration.
Netflix announced that the next Dave Chappelle stand-up special Dave Chappelle: Equanimity will premiere on Dec. 31. As Deadline points out, it'll be the first newly shot special under a three-special deal with Netflix. Two older but previously unreleased shows, Dave Chappelle Live at the Hollywood Palladium and Deep in the Heart of Texas: Dave Chappelle Live at Austin City Limits, were made available earlier this year.
Netflix revealed the news with a little help from Stranger Things in a teaser below.
The three-concert series marks Chappelle's first TV concert special in 12 years. He produced it along with director Stan Lathan.
Since returning from an extended break from comedy, Chappelle has performed more than 500 concerts in the past three years. Most of the shows usually sell out within minutes of their announcements. In 2014, he sold out 10 consecutive comedy shows at Radio City Music Hall, which is something that had never been done before.
