Homeland Season 7 Trailer Unveils A Homegrown Threat
Conspiracy, paranoia and deadly power plays are the order of the day in the upcoming seventh season of Showtime's Homeland—and you can watch the first trailer for the new season now.
After years spent batting back external threats, the seventh season of the Emmy award-winning spy series sees Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison and Mandy Patinkin's Saul Berenson facing down a decidedly more domestic sort of foe.
According to the teaser, the seventh season will see the shady President Keane arresting 200 members of the intelligence community following an attempt on her life, leading to a destabilized environment in which no one can be trusted. Carrie, having left her position at the White House, is now living with her sister in Washington, D.C., trying to free her comrades and get to the bottom of the corrupt government plot.
The trailer runs through several plot points from the upcoming season, with Saul seen both being sent to federal prison and ascending to the post of National Security Advisor. In a way, the trailer is almost too spoilery, showing a number of high-stakes encounters both verbal and physical—like a scene of Carrie beating the hell out of a guy with a retractable baton in an abandoned warehouse. That's spycraft, folks.
Homeland returns to Showtime on February 11, 2018 at 9 pm ET.
