RZA Nabs Wesley Snipes, Terrence Howard For New Orleans Heist Movie
Once upon a time in New Orleans...
The second directorial effort from RZA, Love Beats Rhymes, just came out in theaters and on demand a couple of weeks ago, but the multi-hyphenate director, actor writer and musician is already shooting his third feature on location in New Orleans.
Called Cut Throat City, the next movie from Bobby Digital is a heist film set in the city's Lower Ninth Ward post-Katrina, set to star Terrence Howard, Wesley Snipes, Baby Driver's Eiza González, All Eyez on Me's Demetrius Shipp Jr., The Get Down's Shameik Moore, and T.I., according to a report by Deadline.
Written by P.G. Cuscheri, the story focuses on four childhood friends who return to New Orleans following Katrina's destructive deluge. With no legitimate work available in the wake of the hurricane, the quartet team up with a local gangster to stage a daring casino heist.
Denzel Whitaker, Rob Morgan, Keean Johnson, Isaiah Washington, Kat Graham, and Joel David Moore will also appear.
RZA is the director, writer, and lead of The Man with the Iron Fists. His most recent movie, Love Beats Rhymes, stars Azealia Banks, Lorraine Toussaint, Lucien Laviscount, Hana Mae Lee, Jill Scott, and Common.
