Stephen Colbert's Our Cartoon President Sets Premiere Date
Showtime has announced a premiere date for its animated series centering on the adventures of Donald John Trump, the 45th President of These United States, and you can watch the first teaser for the show now.
The previously-announced project is spinning off the animated Trump segments from Stephen Colbert's Late Show into an independent series of 10 episodes, with a writing staff headed up by R.J. Fried. The lead animator for the show will be Tim Luecke, who made the original cartoon Trump for Colbert's talk show.
The half-hour series will take on a typical day in the life format, following the tru-ish adventures of Trump, his family, his confidants, and the D.C. political class. Chris Licht, executive producer of Late Show, will also serve as an executive producer on the animated series.
Our Cartoon President officially premieres on Sunday, February 11, but according to Variety, you'll be able to catch the first episode online and on demand on January 28.
