Star Wars Fan Creates An Amazing Christmas Light Show
Neither Santa nor the First Order could miss this house.
Software engineer Matt Johnson and his family created a Star Wars-themed Christmas wonderland with an elaborate light show that can probably be seen from far, far away.
Using just about 15,000 lightbulbs, a 7-foot-tall Darth Vader mannequin, and a video reel, Johnson set the display to an EDM remix of John Williams' classic "Imperial March" theme by Celldweller and timed the unveiling for right around the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Of course, Johnson is a lighting professional. His company Living Light Shows manufactures and sells product designs. Still, he told Entertainment Weekly it took eight months to put together all the pieces and about the same time to program the show. After that, the installation process lasted five weeks.
But this is basically a tradition for Johnson. He and his family were featured on the second season of ABC's The Great Christmas Light Fight in 2013.
You can see this year's display if you're in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The show takes place in Dignowity Park through New Year's.
