Who Is Mr. Immortal's Ex-Wife Baroness Cromwell From She-Hulk Episode 6?

Though many may be anticipating the return of Charlie Cox in his role as the Catholic-guilt-ridden vigilante Daredevil, they will have to wait at least another week. "She-Hulk" Episode 5 teased the return of the fan-favorite character whose Netflix series was one of the most beloved Marvel properties. Matt Murdock was a no-show in Episode 6, but that isn't to say there weren't some tasty Easter eggs to tide viewers over in the meantime.

While Jen (Tatiana Maslany) takes a break from the office to serve as a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding, those left behind aren't so lucky. Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) and Mallory (Renée Elise Goldsberry) team up to handle the messy romantic troubles of Mr. Immortal (David Pasquesi). Named for his ability to resurrect himself, Mr. Immortal developed a habit of exiting marriages by faking his death. A clever ruse that ultimately catches up with him when many of his spouses come calling for retribution. One spouse, however, is spoken of but never seen. The mysteriously named Baroness Cromwell is one of Mr. Immortal's ex-wives who has a long history in the Marvel universe.

Baroness Blood could usher in the age of vampires for Marvel

A woman who goes by many names, Baroness Cromwell has not endeared herself to many people, especially for someone so conflict avoidant as Mr. Immortal. Known as Lily Cromwell, as well as Countess Blood, her names point to the dark history that the Baroness experienced. While she was born an innocent human to Dr. Jacob Cromwell, her father's dealings drew her into a world of blood and — yes — vampirism. Under Dracula's thrall, Dr. Cromwell revived Baron Blood who subsequently killed the Baroness' father and sister before turning Lily into a vampire.

From there she became a devoted acolyte of Dracula, founding a cult in honor of Baron Blood as well as searching for the Holy Grail. Baroness Blood possesses the well-known attributes of being a vampire such as enhanced speed, strength, and healing. However, after consuming the contents of the Holy Grail, she became immune to all of her weaknesses such as an aversion to sunlight. A formidable woman to be sure, there is no question as to why her relationship with Mr. Immortal did not work out. They may have shared qualities such as immortality, but probably little else. Her reference in "She-Hulk" may seem like a throwaway line, but now that Blade has been teased to enter the MCU, it could be highly likely that we will see Baroness Cromwell in the flesh sometime in the future.
