Bruce Willis Is Out For Revenge In New Death Wish Trailer
Bruce Willis is back in action in a new trailer for his delayed Death Wish reboot. The movie, a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, follows Willis as Paul Kersey, a doctor who seeks revenge after the violence in the streets of Chicago spills into his own home.
The trailer begins by setting up Kersey and his happy family, one of 125 million in the United States. However, as the trailer points out, one in every four U.S. families will be the victim of a crime– in this case, the killing of Kersey's wife (Elisabeth Shue) and the hospitalization of his daughter (Camila Morrone) in a violent home invasion. "I love my family," Kersey says. "I failed to protect them."
Although Kersey is told that there's nothing he can do but wait for the police to find the killers, he decides to take matters into his own hands. "The men who did it are out there," he says. "I'm going to hunt them down– one by one." The trailer then shows off some of Kersey's creative killing methods, which start to earn him a reputation as a vigilante. "Is this dude right for taking the law into his own hands?" questions a radio DJ. "Is he a hero, or is it wrong?"
Death Wish was delayed from its initially planned November release date to accommodate press into the busy schedules of Willis and director Eli Roth. The movie, which is based off a script from The A-Team's Joe Carnahan and also stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Dean Norris, and Kimberly Elise, is now set to debut on March 2.
