Kendrick Lamar And SZA Release Single From Black Panther Soundtrack
If this is what T'Challa's awesome mix tape sounds like, Star-Lord might have some competition.
Kendrick Lamar shared "All the Stars," the rapper's collaboration with R&B star SZA and the lead single from the upcoming soundtrack to Marvel's Black Panther. Listen to it above.
Lamar will be a big part of the music in Black Panther. He produced and curated the soundtrack along with his TDE label boss Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith. In a statement (via Pitchfork), Lamar had nothing but praise for the movie and director Ryan Coogler. "Marvel Studios' Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director," Lamar said. "The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I'm truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel's vision."
Lamar also referenced Black Panther in the video for his track "LOVE."
More than just about any Marvel movie aside from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, music has been an integral part of the marketing for Black Panther. The first teaser features "Legend Has It" by Run the Jewels, and the first trailer is set to the Vince Staples track "BagBak."
The movie hits theaters Feb. 16.
