Back To The Future Fans Couldn't Contain Their Tears Over Christopher Lloyd And Michael J. Fox's Sweet Reunion

"Back to the Future" fans got a beautiful gift from stars Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox over the weekend.

"Back to the Future" hit theaters 37 years ago, in 1985. The cult classic time travel movie focused on Marty McFly (Fox) and his over-the-top scientist neighbor Doc Brown (Lloyd) as they journeyed across time in their iconic DeLorean. New York Comic Con featured a "Back to the Future" reunion panel, which both Lloyd and Fox attended (via Yahoo). To the delight of fans, the two shared their experiences working together all those years ago. Fox said, "The best part of this movie was working with Chris," while Lloyd mentioned the two had immediate chemistry once they met.

One heartfelt moment went viral after attendees posted it on social media. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 when he was 29, needed some assistance to get on stage. Lloyd helped Fox get onto the sofa at NYCC, but not before Fox hugged him, and the crowd erupted in cheers. After that, fans from around the world were officially teary-eyed.

Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox's reunion takes over Twitter

Seeing Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox reuniting so many years after "Back to the Future" will never get old. The two captured the hearts of fans with the original movies, and their long-running relationship never ceases to bring us to tears.

Some fans took to Twitter to show their love and appreciation for Lloyd and Fox after a video of their embrace went viral, garnering over five million views. TSting18 reposted the video, saying, "If you were a teenager in 1985, then Michael J. Fox was your guy. Marty McFly in 'Back to the Future' is the coolest teenager in cinema history. Watching him hug Christopher Lloyd like this is so beautiful." Shaunlirag replied to the original video with a gif of happy tears and the caption, "This fills my heart with happiness."

The moment brought some fans to tears because of Fox's condition. SumRGuy said, "Watching Michael J. Fox like this tears me apart, man..." Many fans replied to his comment praising Fox's willingness to continue attending massive conventions. "But the courage he's shown to those facing the same disease is truly exceptional," replied mog1717.

Lloyd and Fox's reunion instantly sparks the idea for a potential "Back to the Future IV" or a remake, which we all know Hollywood loves doing. Lloyd expressed his interest in returning to the series back in 2015. However, director Robert Zemeckis told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019 that he and writer Bob Gale's original contracts give them the final say on any future "Back to the Future" projects, and a remake is out of the question. A fourth movie is on the table, but Zemeckis insisted it wouldn't happen without Fox.
