Greg Berlanti's Love, Simon Gets A Charming New Trailer
Disclaimer: things are about to get romantic AF in the new trailer for Greg Berlanti's upcoming romantic comedy Love, Simon. The film stars Jurassic World's Nick Robinson as 17-year-old Simon Spier, who is holding onto a big secret: no one knows he's gay.
"My name is Simon," he says in a voiceover at the start of the trailer. "For the most part, my life is totally normal. I have a family that I actually like, and then there's my friends. We do everything friends do– drink way too much iced coffee while gorging on carbs. I'm just like you." The one thing that sets Simon apart, though, is his secret.
While Simon has kept quiet for many years, he decides to take a risk when another closeted gay teen from his school posts about himself anonymously online. Simon sends him an email and the two begin a correspondence. "I'm done living in a world where I don't get to be who I am," Simon eventually decides. "I deserve a great love story and I want someone to share it with."
Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Jorge Lendeborg, Miles Heizer, Keiynan Lonsdale, Logan Miller, Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel, and Tony Hale also star in Love, Simon, which is directed by Arrow-verse mastermind Greg Berlanti based on a script from This Is Us' Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The film is based on the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.
Love, Simon hits theaters on March 16.
