Parks And Rec's Aubrey Plaza Has A Constant Lingering Heartache Over The Show

"Parks and Recreation" is a show that featured seasoned comedians, but for some actors the sitcom was just the beginning. Aubrey Plaza is known for her deadpan line delivery and disarming stare, qualities that won her the role of April Ludgate on "Parks and Recreation." After the series concluded in 2015, the actress went on to star in movies like "Ingrid Goes West," "Black Bear," and "Happiest Season" (via IMDb). She's currently appearing in a lead role on Season 2 of "The White Lotus," and fans are excited to see Plaza join the MCU for the "WandaVision" spin-off "Agatha: Coven of Chaos."

Plaza is an actress with a stunning duality that allows her to take on roles that range from dramatic to hilarious and everything in between. She's certainly come a long way since that internship in Pawnee, Indiana. Although Plaza admits to being typecast after playing April for so long, it's worked in her favor. She's built an impressive filmography that points to a wide range of talent. However, when Plaza thinks about her career in the entertainment industry, the years she spent on "Parks and Rec" still stand out.

Aubrey Plaza will always miss working on the set of Parks and Rec

In a recent interview with Grazia UK, Aubrey Plaza was asked about the most memorable set she's ever worked on. The actress said that although she's worked on many exciting projects throughout her career, she will always cherish the time she spent on the set of "Parks and Recreation."

"The set on "Parks and Rec," just because it went on for, you know, seven years, like that is a big one for me just in terms of my history of making things," the actress explained to entertainment reporter Olivia Marks (via YouTube). "That set is very memorable; it's just a constant kind of lingering, you know, heartache that I have thinking about how fun it was and how everybody was just so great. I'll never forget that no matter how old and hag-ish I become."

No wonder Plaza misses her days on "Parks and Rec." While the entire cast of the series helped make the show a hit, Plaza knocked it out of the park as April Ludgate. From her surprising friendship with Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), her offbeat romance with Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt), and her transformation from an apathetic intern to an invested civil servant, April's evolution was a joy to watch. The infectious chemistry and camaraderie between the cast light up the screen, so it's great to hear that the actors had a fun experience behind the scenes.
