Keanu Reeves Didn't Meet Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Until The DC League Of Super-Pets Premiere
"DC League of Super-Pets" is a star-studded endeavor to experience (via IMDb). Big names like Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, and even Keanu Reeves voice the characters throughout the movie's 105-minute runtime. Despite interacting with one another vocally on screen, surprisingly, these Hollywood powerhouses didn't officially meet in person until the superhero comedy feature's big premiere event.
While some fans are conflicted about him suiting up as Batman, Keanu Reeves can now officially add the Caped Crusader to the vast array of roles he has played throughout his illustrious career. The "John Wick" star's time as the dark knight in the "DC League of Super-Pets" movie probably wasn't what fans had in mind when they pictured him playing Gotham City's savior, but Neil Minow from RogerEbert.com referred to the actor's take as his "new favorite Batman."
The only thing better than seeing Reeves' critically acclaimed performance as Bruce Wayne's superhero alter ego in "DC League of Super-Pets" is seeing him headline the movie with "Black Adam" star Dwayne Johnson as Superman's canine companion Krypto and Johnson's "Jumanji" costar Kevin Hart as Ace aka Bat-Hound. The critically acclaimed animated film (via Rotten Tomatoes) had all three powerhouses in the mix, and some may be shocked to realize that they didn't officially meet in person until the red carpet premiere.
Worlds collided for the first time at the DC League of Super-Pets launch
It's not surprising that some people may not realize that actors doing voice-over roles don't often directly interact with other cast members and usually never meet until after the film is completed. That appeared to be the case on the red carpet when the man playing Batman was asked if he had ever met or worked with the top-billed stars of "DC League of Super-Pets." "No, I met Dwayne today," Keanu Reeves replied, praising the undeniable chemistry between Johnson and Kevin Hart. "I mean their chemistry, you know, in real life but then also their chemistry in the film, it's something special, you know and they're both so funny and cool cats." (via Access on YouTube). Reeves seemed to be a fan of Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson's work and had nothing but respectable things to say about his fellow cast members.
Dwayne Johnson is also a big fan of Reeves, revealing they almost worked together sooner in "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw" when he received the Generation Award from the MTV Movie & TV Awards. "We talked about it. We said, 'Hey dude, just somewhere down the line, let's do something for sure." It seems like it's only a matter of time before these stars team up in live action, and many are probably hoping "DC League of Super-Pets" isn't the last time those names come together in the lineup.
