Netflix Offers You Collateral In The Form Of A Trailer
There's more to this crime than meets the eye.
The Netflix and BBC co-production Collateral is coming to the streaming service in March after wrapping up its four-episode run on British television, and you can watch the trailer for the full miniseries now.
The series (which has nothing to do with the Michael Mann movie of the same name) follows Carey Mulligan as Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie, a police investigator who refuses to accept the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man as a random act of violence. The more she digs for the truth of the murder, the more she tugs at rotten institutional realities and the selfish secrets people keep.
The series was written and created by David Hare, an acclaimed playwright, screenwriter and director whose previous films include The Hours and The Reader. All four episodes were directed by S.J. Clarkson, who recently worked as a director for The Defenders, Jessica Jones, and Banshee.
In addition to the Academy Award-nominated Mulligan in the lead role, the series will star John Simm (Doctor Who), Nicola Walker (MI-5), and Billie Piper (Penny Dreadful).
"I've been writing drama for the BBC since 1973, but this is my first original series," Hare said when the series was first announced last year. "I'm thrilled that it has such a stunningly gifted cast."
Collateral began airing on BBC Two on February 12th, and is set to conclude on March 5 with its fourth episode. Netflix will release all episodes of the miniseries internationally for streaming on March 9.
