Michael B. Jordan Lights Up New Teaser For Fahrenheit 451
Michael B. Jordan is clearly on a hot streak, but he'll take things to another level in Fahrenheit 451.
HBO unveiled a teaser for the upcoming adaptation of Ray Bradbury's classic sci-fi novel, and Jordan, who is currently burning up the screen as Erik Killmonger in Marvel's Black Panther, is in the middle of the dystopia.
Originally published in 1953, Fahrenheit 451 is set in a futuristic America where books are outlawed and "firemen" are employed to burn any trace of them. Jordan stars as Guy Montag, a young fireman who isn't so sure it's a good idea to destroy all written knowledge. Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water) plays his mentor and captain Beatty.
Widely regarded as one of the best sci-fi novels ever written, Fahrenheit 451 was previously adapted into a movie in 1966, a stage play in 1979, a radio dramatization in 1982, and a video game in 1984.
Ramin Bahrani (writer of 99 Homes and Man Push Cart) directs the new movie, which co-stars Sofia Boutella (The Mummy) as Clarisse, an informant caught up in the fray; Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Montag's wife, Millie; and Martin Donovan (Ant-Man) as Commander Nyari. It'll premiere on HBO in May.
