Who Voices Teddy In Night At The Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again?
Although much and more of the "Night at the Museum" trilogy is defined by the lead performance of Ben Stiller, it's safe to say that one of the most iconic characters in the franchise is U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt, played by the legendary Robin Williams. When we first met Teddy in the original "Night at the Museum," he seemed like no more than a wax sculpture come to life — hopelessly in love with a sculpture of Sacagawea (Mizuo Peck) at the other end of the hall.
Yet, as the series goes on, he becomes a full-on mentor and father figure to series protagonist Larry Daley (Stiller), offering him sage counsel and life advice to wrap up nearly every major conflict we see within the series. Considering the commanding presence of this character on-screen, alongside the incredibly emotional performance from Williams, there's no question that the next actor to play Teddy Roosevelt in the franchise has some big shoes to fill — which is why it's so surprising that Teddy will be returning for the animated sequel "Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again." Here's who will be succeeding the great Robin Williams as Teddy in this upcoming sequel.
Thomas Lennon of Reno 911! will voice Teddy
In "Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again," the character of Teddy Roosevelt will be voiced by Thomas Lennon. Lennon is most well known for playing the role of Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Comedy Central's "Reno 911!" — a mockumentary series that satirizes police docu-dramas like "Cops." Lennon actually created the series alongside his writing partner and "Reno 911" co-star Robert Ben Garant, with whom he's written several high-profile comedy films over the years; including all three of the original "Night at the Museum" films (via IMDb).
Although it's clear that Lennon himself has a deep connection to the "Night at the Museum" franchise, he also seems to hold a deep reverence for the late Robin Williams as well, as Lennon paid homage to the legendary comic in a 2021 Instagram post. The post itself includes a picture of a young Lennon wearing a "Mork from Ork" shirt, with the caption "Robin Williams Forever." Despite the fact that it may be impossible to live up to the warmth and gravity of Williams' incredible performance in the original trilogy, Lennon's dedication to the franchise and his respect for Williams' legacy makes it clear that he will do the character of Teddy Roosevelt justice in the upcoming "Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again."
