Tiffany Haddish To Lead Tyler Perry's New Film The List

If you thought her presentation with Maya Rudolph at the 2018 Oscars was a scream, you'll be happy to hear this news.

Actress and giggle-giving funny lady Tiffany Haddish has been cast in Tyler Perry's newest film The ListDeadline reports. The flick hails from Paramount Players, with Perry attached in a triple-threat role as writer, director, and producer.

Haddish will star alongside Tika Sumpter (Ride Along, Southside with You) and Omari Hardwick (The A-Team, Kick-Ass) for The List. No concrete details on her character were given, apart from the information we can glean from the short logline Paramount Players provided to Deadline: "When her wild sister (Haddish) gets released from prison and re-enters her life, Danica (Sumpter) is forced to accept that she may be getting 'catfished' by an online boyfriend whom she has never met in person."

Image Award-nominated actress Haddish recently stole hearts and gained a ton of fans for her performance in the surprise hit comedy Girls Trip, and has continued on a blazing trail ever since. She became the first black female stand-up comic ever to host Saturday Night Live, making history back in 2017, and snagged the gig to host the upcoming MTV Movie & TV Awards this June.

Up next for Haddish is the TBS sitcom The Last OG, which stars Tracy Morgan, and the Universal feature film Night School starring Kevin Hart. She's also slated to team up with Melissa McCarthy for The Kitchen, the drama film that adapts the Vertigo comic book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle. New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment are behind The Kitchen, which has Straight Outta Compton scribe Andrea Berloff on board as both writer and director.

The List is all set up to bow on November 2.
