Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Teaser Trailer Returns To Hogwarts
The wizarding world is about to get a whole lot more complicated.
Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and it gives us a hint at the beginnings of the epic conflict that forever changed J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter universe.
Set after the events of the first Fantastic Beasts movie but decades before Harry Potter's parents were born, the action moves from New York to Paris. We also get a look at Hogwarts, where a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student and magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his friends to help track down the villainous Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). The dark wizard has escaped from the custody of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, and he's hatching a plot to build an army of pure-blooded wizards to conquer the muggle world.
Die-hard Harry Potter fans know this all leads to a battle between former friends Dumbledore and Grindelwald that rocks the Wizarding World to its core. However, there are three more sequels to come in the series after The Crimes of Grindelwald, so we may just see more of the buildup this time around.
Fantastic Beasts director David Yates is back for his sixth movie in Rowling's magical universe. He made his franchise debut with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007 and was behind the two-part finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The Crimes of Grindelwald co-stars Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant), Alison Sudol (Dig), Dan Fogler (The Goldbergs), Ezra Miller (Justice League), Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road), Callum Turner (Green Room), Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), and Jessica Williams (The Incredible Jessica James), and it hits theaters on Nov. 16.
