Dragon Ball Super Movie Teaser Reveals Epic New Battle
Although the animated series Dragon Ball Super is coming to a close this weekend, the story won't stop there.
The first teaser for the feature-length follow-up movie has arrived, and while it's brief, it should be a welcome sight to fans of the franchise. It also offers a look at the heroic Goku, who received his first character design overhaul in two decades to make him slimmer for the movie (via ComicBook.com).
Set after the events of the upcoming conclusion to the series, the Dragon Ball Super movie will reportedly follow Goku's next adventure after the Tournament of Power and explore unexplained aspects about the villainous Frieza and the Saiyans.
There's speculation that the movie will be set on Sadala, the native planet of the Saiyans. Although the inhabitants destroyed the planet themselves in Universe 7, it still exists in Universe 6. However, the finale of the series could restore all of the universes for more action. You never really know when it comes to the Dragon Ball franchise.
The teaser also gives a hint at a new foe for Goku, but we don't see who it is. Rumor has it that it could be the original Legendary Super Saiyan, and he looks to be wearing some variation of Saiyan armor. However, we're only treated to a glimpse of the mystery man powering up before Goku launches into his assault.
We'll find out more when the Dragon Ball Super movie hits theaters in December. Meanwhile, the series finale will air on Adult Swim this weekend.
