Thor Meets The Guardians Of The Galaxy In New Avengers: Infinity War Clip
Contains spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok
We've known it would happen since the first trailer dropped for Avengers: Infinity War, but we finally get to see how Thor gets mixed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's just about perfect.
A new Infinity War clip that premiered during the Kids' Choice Awards reveals that Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) literally smack their ship right into Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who is floating unconscious through space. Check it out above.
It presumably happens after Thanos (Josh Brolin) encounters and destroys the ship that Thor, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) are taking to Earth at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. The latest trailer hints that Loki will give Thanos the Space Stone that he snatched from Asgard before Hela annihilated Thor's home planet.
The new clip reveals that the Guardians stumble upon Thor and take him onboard their ship, although they're all shocked he hasn't died. When Star-Lord says, "How is this dude still alive?," Drax responds, "He is not a dude. You're a dude. This is a man. A handsome, muscular man." Even Gamora is impressed with him.
But it only takes Mantis (Pom Klementieff) a moment to revive Thor, and he instantly awakens to discover his new intergalactic pals.
While all the Avengers on Earth are focusing on the imminent destruction that Thanos (Josh Brolin) will bring, Thor will team up with Rocket and Groot for a side-quest to find a replacement for his beloved hammer Mjölnir. Toys released ahead of the movie seem to confirm that he'll end up discovering the axe-like Jarnbjorn.
Of course, this new alliance is only one of many we'll see in Avengers: Infinity War. The movie features just about every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). The latter two, in particular, will apparently be fast friends.
We'll find out more when Avengers: Infinity War takes over theaters on April 27.
