Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blooper Reel Shows The Lighter Side Of The Force
The Star Wars galaxy isn't all lightsaber duels to the death and complicated family dynamics. Sometimes there's a little fun, too.
Disney released the blooper reel from the Blu-ray and DVD release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and although it's actually kind of brief, there are some amusing moments captured on the set of Rian Johnson's divisive installment of the Skywalker saga.
We see footage of Mark Hamill stepping back into the cockpit of an X-Wing for the first time in years, and it turns out that it belongs to none other than Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron. Hamill doesn't miss the opportunity to crack a few jokes about it.
There are also some pretty funny bits like Daisy Ridley breaking character during an intense scene on Ahch-To, John Boyega having a ton of trouble with one complicated bit of dialogue, and Kelly Marie Tran accidentally breaking one of the prop guns. We really would've liked to have seen Yoda do a spit-take, but it looks like we'll have to wait for the next one.
The Blu-ray is definitely worth a buy. In addition to the blooper reel, it's packed with bonus features including half an hour of deleted scenes, an audio commentary track by Johnson, and an entire feature-length documentary called The Director and the Jedi that follows Johnson's journey behind the scenes of the blockbuster. That's like two movies for the price of one.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now available on Digital HD, 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD.
