MCU Stars Flood Jeremy Renner's Instagram With Love
Any day is a good day to show "Avengers" star Jeremy Renner love, but right now, in particular, he and his family really need it. That's because, on Monday, January 2, Renner suffered injuries related to a snowplow accident, sending him to the hospital in critical condition and requiring two surgeries.
Fortunately, the surgeries appear to have gone well, with his condition now described as "critical but stable." On Tuesday, January 3, Renner made an Instagram post showing himself in his hospital bed, writing, "Thank you all for your kind words. [Prayer hands emoji]. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."
The accident occurred after Renner was towing a family member's car with his snowplow. He stepped outside the vehicle to talk to the family member, at which point the snowplow started to move on its own. Renner tried to jump into the vehicle to stop it but instead was run over, causing multiple serious injuries.
The beloved actor's Instagram has over 5 million likes and over 200,000 comments, most of which are expressing their love for Renner and wishing him a quick recovery. However, it's not just common fans expressing their best wishes.
Multiple Chrises from the MCU send Jeremy Renner their best wishes for his recovery
Among the hundreds of thousands of comments wishing Jeremy Renner well were those who had starred alongside him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as Renner plays Hawkeye, also known as Clint Barton, within those films and series, including all four "Avengers" films and his own Disney+ series, "Hawkeye."
Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the MCU films after the character's name and in the "Avengers" crossovers, commented, "Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!" Hemsworth is not the only Chris from the MCU sending his love to the actor.
Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, also known as Peter Quill, in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avengers" films, commented on Renner's post, writing, "Continued prayers your way brutha. [black heart]." But if you thought we were out of Chrises to give Renner love in the comment section, you would be wrong!
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers in the "Captain America" and, you guessed it, "Avengers" films, also had kind words to throw Renner's way. "Tough as nails. Love you buddy [heart]," Evans wrote.
Paul Bettany, Josh Brolin, Alaqua Cox and Mark Ruffalo also send their love
It's not just the Chrises sending their love to Jeremy Renner, though. Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in "WandaVision" and the "Avengers" films, wrote, "Love you mate. Sending you love and healing."
Josh Brolin, who plays the villainous Thanos in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and the final two "Avengers" films, wrote, "Close but no cigar. You're blessed. Quick recovery, brother. [heart]."
Alaqua Cox, who plays Echo, also known as Maya Lopez, in "Hawkeye" and the upcoming Disney+ series "Echo," also took to Instagram to send Renner her love, simply commenting with two heart emojis.
Finally, Mark Ruffalo, the actor of the Hulk, also known as Bruce Banner, in "Thor: Ragnarok," "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law," and the "Avengers" films, wrote, "Prayers up for our brother [Jeremy Renner] on a full and speedy recovery. Please send healing goodness his way." This was on his personal Instagram story and not Renner's comment section, as reported by People.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's directors also send Jeremy Renner their love
It's not only Jeremy Renner's fellow actors from the MCU who are sending him their love, however. Many of the various directors of the MCU's films have also taken to the star's comment section to show him they're thinking of him and wishing him the best in his recovery.
Taika Waititi, director of "Thor: Ragnarök" and "Thor: Love and Thunder," commented on Renner's post, writing, "My brother I love you [heart]."
Anthony and Joe Russo, also known as the Russo brothers, directors of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Endgame," also left a kind comment, writing, "Sending all of our love, brother, and hopes for a speedy recovery [black heart]."
Last but not least, James Gunn, director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" films, commented a single heart and an emoji of hands being raised in order to show Renner his love and well wishes.
As terrible of a situation the beloved actor is in, he at least won't want for kind messages from his fans and co-workers alike. As Jimmy Fallon also posted in his comment section, "Lotsa love out there for you bud."
