Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania's Second Trailer Already Has Fans Cheering For Jonathan Majors' Brutal Kang
The second trailer for "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is here, and it has a much more serious tone than fans might expect. The trailer shows Ant-Man, also known as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), trapped in the Quantum Realm, where he meets Kang the Conqueror, played by the brilliant Jonathan Majors.
As we learned in "Avengers: Endgame," the Quantum Realm isn't just incredibly small — it's also a place where time flows differently. Kang the Conqueror has apparently found a way to wield the timey-wimeyness of the Quantum Realm to his advantage, which he seemingly offers to Ant-Man in order for him to get back the time with his daughter that he missed during the Blip.
With the next "Avengers" movie titled "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," Kang is looking to be the next Thanos-level villain, and fans are unbelievably hyped for the character to make his first appearance, not counting the variant version of the character that appeared in "Loki."
Fans are having a hard time rooting against the villainous Kang the Conqueror
Although Kang the Conqueror is ostensibly going to be the villain of not just "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" but the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are so in love with Jonathan Majors and the character that many are having a hard time imagining themselves not cheering for him.
On Twitter, @natproduces wrote, "How does Marvel cast a STAR like Jonathan and expect me to root against him?? Doesn't make sense!"
Others on Twitter aren't even trying to resist Kang's and Majors' charm, with @malakaddo writing, "Now that's the Conqueror I'm talking about. All hail Kang the Conqueror!"
User @mypalsammy was so moved by the trailer that they're already getting out their wallet, writing, "Now this ... this is an #MCU movie I'd pay for. And it helps knowing #Kang is far too powerful for #AntManAndTheWasp. If can squash #AntMan to death [sic] ... I'm 100% in. First movie of 2023. Let's Go!"
Fans are particularly impressed by the trailer's visuals and how good Kang looks
It's not just the story that people are excited by. Much attention has also been brought to the trailer's visuals, with the Quantum Realm looking particularly stunning, and of course, Kang the Conqueror's suit and performance are leaving viewers even more excited to see the upcoming film.
Another Twitter user who couldn't contain their excitement was @thoughtswithal, who wrote, "HOLY CR@P!!! This has me WELL HYPED now! Kang looks incredible, the tone looks perfect and the visuals look spectacular. Super excited now."
Twitter user @spiderdude97 is looking forward to seeing the full extent of Kang's powers, writing, "Wow! #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania looks so good. I seriously can't wait to see this in a month. Can't wait to how powerful Kang truly is in the MCU. Also will be interesting to see what happens in this movie."
Twitter user @Dan_Baynham95 also thinks Kang looks great even when you can't see Jonathan Majors' face, writing, "Kang looks insane with his helmet on! This movie will be brutal in the best possible way and I cannot wait for it!!"
Kang the Conqueror's fans want him to defeat Ant-Man and his team
Some fans are so excited for Kang the Conqueror that they're even willing to root against Ant-Man, with Twitter user @shanellegenai writing, "Okay so after watching #AntManAndTheWasp Quantumania trailer back-to-back-to-back-to back, I can now confidently say: Scott Lang is getting his butt WHOOPED & I will henceforth be rooting for Jonathan Maj — I mean Kang. Sorry to this Avenger."
Some fans are even thirsting after the new villain, with Twitter user @bradwhipple writing, "SLEEVLESS KANG THE CONQUEROR, OH NO" with a hot face emoji and a picture of the conqueror's muscular arm. User @danto_42 responded to that post by writing, "The whole theater while Kang kills literally everyone in this movie:" with a GIF of an amorous Blanche from "The Golden Girls" misting herself.
Finally, Twitter user @elclass_king is looking forward to the carnage they expect Kang the Conqueror to cause, posting a picture of him stomping and another of Ant-Man's broken helmet, writing, "Kang about to murder everybody in all different versions of himself."
"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" hits theaters February 17.
