Drake's 'Started From the Bottom' is the song playing in the second trailer for the Shazam! sequel
Amid all the wondrous wizardry and superhero mayhem viewers are treated to in the second trailer for "Shazam! Fury of the Gods," there is a song playing throughout that many will recognize as Drake's popular track "Started from the Bottom."
Drake released the song in February 2013 off of the "Nothing Was the Same" studio album. The successful tune received Grammy nominations for best rap song and best rap performance. It also earned great reviews from outlets like Complex, which stated, "'Started From the Bottom' is Drake at his most irrepressibly memorable. Stripped down to a simple piano line and a crisp, unforgettable drum pattern, the song's simplicity gave it a singular fingerprint." So far, the music video for "Started from the Bottom" has over 500 million views on YouTube.
While the character wasn't completely unknown before he got the live-action treatment on the big screen, in terms of raw popularity, some would argue that "Shazam!" may rank toward the bottom of the DC Universe's roster. If this song is any indicator, it seems the fun-loving hero is making it known that there is a good chance "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" will launch his superhero stock through the stratosphere.
