Avengers: Infinity War Cast Unveils Exclusive Clip During Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Avengers, assemble — on a small sofa on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! soundstage.

A handful of members of the Avengers: Infinity War cast came together on Monday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to unveil an exclusive clip from the movie. In attendance were Robert Downey Jr., the suave man behind Iron Man; Tom Holland, the charming Brit who slips into the web-slinging suit as Spider-Man; Zoe Saldana, the actress who gets painted green to play Guardians of the Galaxy femme fatale Gamora; Paul Bettany, who portrays Vision; and Pom Klementieff, fellow Guardians franchise star who plays Mantis. The five stars joined Kimmel for a few festivities ahead of Infinity War's world premiere in Los Angeles.

Before the cast ushered in the new footage, they spoke about which family members they took to the premiere (Holland invited his brothers, Klementieff was joined by her mother), revealed that they definitely don't feel like the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to compete with the Star Wars film series, created their own superheroes and drew goofy versions of them, and kept an expectedly tight lip on Infinity War spoilers. Amid the discussion were plenty of jokes as well, like Holland teasing Downey Jr. that he "hated" the 2008 Iron Man film.

The actors finally unveiled the exclusive clip, and it was worth the wait. In the video, Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) teams up with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to prepare for the impending arrival of Thanos (Josh Brolin), the intergalactic baddie who wants to get his huge alien fists on the Infinity Stones — one of which, the Mind Stone, is embedded in Vision's skull, shown peeking through his forehead. Banner explains that Thanos isn't just a run-of-the-mill villain or a wannabe antagonist with a sour attitude; instead, he's a "plague" that bounces from one planet to the next, looking to ravage and ruin everything in sight.
