What Is The Song In Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts' Super Bowl 2023 Trailer?
Michael Bay's prolific adaptations of the famous transforming toy line may have covered just about every conceivable storyline, but the franchise doesn't appear to be ending any time soon. The next installment of Optimus Prime's Autobots will appear in "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." Set in the "Transformers" timeline following 2018's "Bumblebee," the new film will reportedly follow Noah (Anthony Ramos) in 1994. But in addition to the crowd-pleasing robots-turning-into-cars shenanigans we all know and love, "Rise of the Beast" promises some new twists from the franchises.
The titular beasts appearing in the film are none other than those of the "Transformers" spinoff "Beast Wars." While Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) will return, fans will also get the gorilla robot Optimus Primal, voiced by Ron Perlman (via IMDb). Also on tap to appear is Michelle Yeoh as Airazor and Peter Dinklage as Scourge. A new trailer has been released, showing these new characters in all their glory and a song enveloping us in '90s nostalgia.
Notorious B.I.G. brings us to the '90s
Viewers were first introduced to the joy of the "Transformers" period piece in the Hailee Steinfeld-fronted "Bumblee." Taking place in 1987, the film utilizes amusing hallmarks of the time as young Charlie unearths everyone's favorite yellow Volkswagen beetle, and a friendship ensues. "Rise of the Beast" seems to be taking a cue from the film, or at the very least, getting the same enjoyment from period-accurate music.
As the new character Noah discovers the powers of Mirage (Pete Davidson), Notorious B.I.G.'s famous single "Juicy" thrums in the background. The song is a classic tale of a young creative rising to success. Proving everyone around him wrong, Biggie became one of the most famous rappers of the time. The song is apt not just because it cements viewers in the time but could be telling for the introduction of a new character in need of redemption.
