Star Trek's Michael Dorn Was 'Pissed Off' South Park Didn't Include Him In His Own Cameo
"South Park" has a long history of not only lampooning and parodying celebrities but also featuring them. What fan of "South Park" can't name off a laundry list of celebrities that "South Park" has shone no mercy, like Tom Cruise, Kanye West, Hillary Clinton, Steve Irwin, and many others. In addition, there have been several real-life celebrities that have personally appeared on "South Park" as themselves, like the infamous stoner duo of Cheech and Chong, members of the nu-metal band Korn, Malcolm McDowell, Robert Smith, Ozzy Osborne, and even Elton John to highlight a few examples.
Despite making fun of some celebrities and including them in some episodes, "South Park" has crafted an interesting collection of real and imagined celebrity moments. However, it seems that one particular episode of "South Park" rubbed actor Michael Dorn the wrong way. For those who do not recognize the name, Dorn plays the Klingon Worf in the world of "Star Trek." The character is undoubtedly iconic for "Star Trek: The Next Generation" fans, and he's used in an outlandish episode of "South Park" that involves both Dorn and his character. However, this moment shocked the actor himself — as he wasn't invited to partake in the fun.
Dorn would have loved to play himself
The episode in question comes from Season 6, Episode 4, titled "Fun with Veal." The plot of the episode involves Cartman (Trey Parker), Stan (Parker), Kyle (Matt Stone), and Kenny (Stone) realizing what veal actually is. Horrified, the boys abduct all the baby cows they can find and hunker down with the animals in one of their rooms. The situation quickly transforms into a hostage situation. As the episode progresses, Cartman works over the police negotiator, asking increasingly outrageous demands, like getting an intercontinental ballistic missile. Realizing they need to flee, Cartman asks for a semi-truck driven by Michael Dorn dressed as Worf, to which the police negotiator complies.
During a Reddit Ask-Me-Anything session, ThatIowanGuy asked Dorn if he had seen this particular episode of "South Park." Dorn replied, "Um, I'm a HUGE fan of South Park. And I didn't know that it was going — that they were doing that. WHen it happened, I was so excited. BUt I was a bit pissed off, because tehy didn't ask me to voice it. I would've done it for nothing. But later, I heard that someone had just wanted to do the Worf voice. So they wrote it so he could." Within the episode, Stone voices Dorn, though it sounds like the actor himself would have gladly accepted the role had the "South Park" creators reached out. Still, it is funny to think that Dorn would have loved appearing in "South Park."
