Celebrity Big Brother Is Coming Back For Season 2

CBS is doubling down on Celebrity Big Brother. According to Deadline, the network has ordered a second season of the famous spin-off of their long-running reality series, hosted by Julie Chen.

Celebrity Big Brother's first season was CBS' counter-programming answer to the 2018 Winter Olympics, which aired on NBC. The series was won by former Hairspray star Marissa Jaret Winokur and also featured Miss Universe runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez, former Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, UFC fighter Chuck Liddell, Big Time Rush singer James Maslow, former The Cosby Show actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, singer Mark McGrath, former NBC player Metta World Peace, TV host Ross Mathews, actress Shannon Elizabeth, and former The Apprentice star and White House aide Omarosa Manigault.

Celebrity Big Brother was a condensed version of the popular Big Brother, which is headed into its twentieth season this summer. The series featured many of the popular elements from its parent show, including the Head of Household and Power of Veto competitions and the jury, who voted for the winner of the series. Chen returned as the host and is expected to be back for the second season as well. There is no word yet on when the second season will air.

CBS has renewed most of its returning series, including the dramas Criminal Minds, Instinct, Blue Blods, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Modern Secretary, MacGyver, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, SEAL Team, SWAT, Ransom, and Salvation, as well as the comedies Man With a Plan, Life in Pieces, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, and Young Sheldon. Other reality renewals include Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Survivor, and Undercover Boss.
