America's Got Talent To Air All-Star Winter Edition

America's Got Talent is bringing back their champions. According to USA Today, NBC has ordered a winter edition of their popular reality competition series, featuring past competitors from both the U.S. and international versions of the show.

The series, titled America's Got Talent: The Champions, will feature Simon Cowell on the judges panel, although there's no word yet on if the other summer judges (currently made up of Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel) will join him. Cowell also executive produces the series alongside Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff, Trish Kinane and Richard Wallace. The show is produced by Cowell's Syco production banner and FremantleMedia North America.

"I have always wanted to have a competition show for the very best of the best Got Talent acts from around the world," Cowell said in a statement. "The variety and the talents of the acts who enter Got Talent globally are incredible and unbelievable. Since America's Got Talent was where it all started, I'm absolutely delighted to be launching this on NBC."

AGT was the highest-rated show of last summer, earning an average of 16 million viewers and a 3.5 rating in the key 18 to 49 demo. "America's Got Talent dominates the summer by bringing together the world's best Got Talent acts for all ages with unique talents to the forefront," added Paul Telegdy, NBC's president of alternative and reality programming. "Bringing the best Got Talent competitors together for this winter edition will have these favorites elevating their acts to awe and inspire audiences like never before." (via Variety)
