Tiffany Haddish Beats Up Kevin Hart In New Night School Trailer
Tiffany Haddish has it out for Kevin Hart in the latest trailer for the duo's upcoming comedy Night School. The film features Hart as Teddy Walker, a man who, after a series of life setbacks, decides to go back to night school to get his GED. Haddish plays his uptight teacher, Carrie.
The trailer starts with Teddy in the principal's (Taran Killam) office, trying to sell his work as a mascot for his fast food restaurant as a "great job in sales." "You're in my house," Killam's Stewart tells him. Teddy soon meets Carrie, who is, in fact, the night school teacher, and not just a "b**** who likes to wear blouses." He also meets the other students in his class, including the hipster Mila (Anne Winters) and the hardworking mom Theresa (Mary Lynn Rajskub).
"She's not like the teachers that we had back in the day," Teddy tells his friend (Ben Schwartz). "This woman is a brick wall." As the trailer shows, Carrie is willing to pursue some violent methods to get Teddy to learn, beating him up in a boxing ring to try to get him to say the square root of 81. Carrie's tough teaching prompts Teddy and his classmates to try to steal the test they need to pass in order to get their GED, although their plan does not seem to go over well.
Rob Riggle, Yvonne Orji, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Romany Malco, Bresha Webb, Al Madrigal, Keith David, Tilda Del Toro, Jacob Batalon, and Jeff Rose also star in Night School. Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip) directs, while Hart will produce alongside Will Packer (Straight Outta Compton). James Lopez (Girls Trip) will executive produce. The movie is based on a story by Hart and has a script from Hart, Harry Ratchford (Kevin Hart: What Now?), Joey Wells (Kevin Hart: Laugh At My Pain), Matt Kellard (The Real Husbands of Hollywood), and Nick Stoller (Get Him to the Greek).
Night School hits theaters on Sept. 28.
