Here's How You Can Watch Succession Online

There's no question that "Succession" is one of the biggest shows currently on television. The hit HBO series, which focuses on the cruel, ultra-wealthy Roy family and their infighting over who will hold power over their enormous media company, started airing its final season recently, so there's no better time than now to catch up.

For those who haven't checked "Succession" out yet and wonder why everybody on Twitter is freaking out, there's an easy way to watch it. It's an HBO original, which means it's available to enjoy with an HBO Max subscription. HBO also partners with Hulu, so if one has that service, they can add HBO on as a subscription. If viewers do not have HBO or prefer to rely on other streamers to watch "Succession," they can rent it by the episode on Amazon, Apple TV+, Google Play, or a premium YouTube TV subscription that includes HBO.

What is Succession about?

As "Succession" begins, patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox), head of the massive media conglomerate Waystar Royco, suffers a stroke, leaving his children Connor (Alan Ruck), Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) in total flux. Logan eventually recovers and spends the following three seasons wielding his power and guarding it from his children, despite their constant grabs for power.

For his part, Logan plays the game as much as his children, dangling the title of his successor in front of each of them in turn. By the end of Season 3, the kids try to outsmart their brilliant father by getting in the way of his upcoming sale to GoJo, run by fellow mogul Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skärsgard), only for him to remove them from the Waystar Royco roster entirely with the help of their mother and Shiv's husband, Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen). When it was announced that "Succession" will end with Season 4, fans knew the series was teeing up to something incredible.

The final season of Succession is turning out to be pretty explosive

Contains spoilers for "Succession" Season 4, Episode 3 – "Connor's Wedding"

Even as fans prepared themselves for the fourth and final season of "Succession," they couldn't have prepared themselves for what was coming. In the third episode of the season – with seven more to go in "Succession" Season 4 — showrunner Jesse Armstrong made the bold and unexpected move to kill off Logan, letting the powerful man die an unremarkable death in a plane bathroom.

While Logan dies 30,000 feet above the ground, his panicked children, trapped on a boat in New York for Connor's wedding, frantically shout into a speakerphone in an attempt to bid their father goodbye. Having this moment — which seemed inevitable given the show's title — happen fifteen minutes into the third episode is an incredible move, and it's setting up an equally incredible race to the finish.

Logan's death leaves so many questions unanswered, including if any of his children will take control of the company and if the GoJo deal is secure. To see these answers unfold, viewers can watch "Succession" on HBO Max.
