Impractical Jokers Paid To Replace Murr's TV After It Was Destroyed

In the "Impractical Jokers" Season 3 episode "Jokers Playhouse," James "Murr" Murray finds himself in an all too familiar position. As the joker who ends up with the most losses of the episode, he earns the title of the night's "big loser" and therefore has to endure a punishment devised by his co-hosts. As he has to put together his own children's show, dubbed "Murr's Playhouse," he also has to watch Sal Vulcano, Brian "Q" Quinn, and Joe Gatto destroy his apartment on a monitor. They even wreck his pricey TV, though that pain didn't endure for long.

In a video for the truTV YouTube channel, Murr took a series of fan questions pertaining to his "Impractical Jokers" experiences. When asked about his TV and how he went about getting a new one, he shared that he didn't have to pay a dime for a replacement. "The show paid for it, thankfully," he said, but he was still pretty angry when the TV was initially destroyed. He recalls picking it out himself so he could watch TV in his bedroom, so he was understandably a bit mad when Q took a bat to it.

If his TV wasn't replaced after this episode, this punishment could easily be in the running as one of Murr's worst, seeing as his entire apartment was annihilated. Instead, fans seem to have awarded that coveted spot to another one.

Murr's smashed TV punishment pales in comparison to another infamous one

Murr has had it pretty rough on "Impractical Jokers" over the years, with some fans even claiming that he's had the worst punishments of anyone on the show. He's had to shave his head and eyebrows before taking his driver's license photo, face his fear of skydiving, and embarrass himself in front of his childhood crush, Danica McKellar, to name a few of the worst. However, as evidenced by a poll by Reddit user u/mtfred12, one punishment puts all of those and the "Murr's Playhouse" punishment to shame.

u/mtfred12 provided six choices in their poll for Murr's worst punishment, and the winner couldn't have been more clear. With a whopping 84 votes, Murr having to get two prostate exams in front of a group of onlookers in Season 5's "Dark Side of the Moon" won the poll by a wide margin. The next closest was the aforementioned skydiving punishment seen in "Look Out Below" from Season 3. The fact that he went through such traumatizing experiences on live television is truly a testament to Murr's commitment to the show and, to some extent, the cruelty of his co-stars.

Since "Impractical Jokers" is still truTV's flagship series, one has to imagine that Murr will continue to get stuck with some pretty atrocious punishments for years to come. Still, at least he didn't have to pay for a new TV.
