Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween Trailer Brings Slappy And Friends Back To Life
As if Halloween wasn't spooky enough already, the Goosebumps sequel is showing up to give you a taste of what might be the scariest thing imaginable. Get this — a haunted Halloween.
Coming from Sony Pictures, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween aims to revive the many stories of horror author R. L. Stine once again, bringing the 62-book children's series back to the big screen, just in time for fall.
The story of the sequel will reportedly revolve around the villainous living doll Slappy bringing a variety of Halloween horrors to life, at least partially by making use of that handy supervillain accessory, a blue laser shooting into the sky. To accomplish his apocalyptic goal, he'll have to fend off the efforts of a trio of kids who band together to try and save Halloween.
Sony commissioned multiple scripts for the sequel, some which included Jack Black returning to his role as the on-screen version of Stine (aka Mr. Shivers), and some which did not. From the look of this trailer at least, it doesn't seem like Black will be returning to the franchise in live-action — but he will reportedly once again be providing his voice to Slappy the Dummy.
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween is slated to be out in theaters on October 12.
