Disenchantment: Watch The Trailer For Matt Groening's Weird Fantasy
Netflix is spreading some Disenchantment.
The new series from The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening is now within a month of its premiere date, and we finally have a pretty good idea of what the show will look and feel like thanks to a first full trailer. Check it out above.
The trailer introduces protagonist Princess Bean as a rambunctious, runaway royal bride who wants to break off from her restrictive life at the top. She accomplishes this, of course, by getting drunk, going on adventures, and killing some people.
She also makes some friends in the characters of Elfo, an elf, and Luci, a black-hearted demon who only encourages Bean's worst impulses. The series will center on the three unlikely companions as they travel the trashier neighborhoods and weirder spots of Dreamland, a medieval kingdom of magic and wonder. Will lessons be learned? Probably not. Will gingerbread houses be destroyed by fiery detonation? Yes.
The series features the voices of Abbi Jacobson as Bean, Nat Faxon as Elfo, and Eric Andre as Luci. The rest of the cast will be filled out with some of the usual suspects of the voice acting profession, including Futurama's own John DiMaggio, Billy West, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, and Maurice LaMarche.
Disenchantment will debut with the release of ten episodes on Netflix on August 17.
