Manifest: Who Dies In Season 4 Part 2?

The final stretch of "Manifest" episodes finally hit Netflix on June 3, unsurprisingly culminating in a series of deaths just prior to its conclusion. NBC famously canceled "Manifest" in 2021, only for Netflix to pick it up for a fourth and final season. At its outset, creator Jeff Rake planned for a six-season run. Netflix's conclusion effectively leaves the show just one short of that goal, given that "Manifest" Season 4's two parts each function like discrete seasons. Nevertheless, whether one or two short of the original plan, "Manifest" Season 4, Part 2 lands on a clean, conclusive ending.

Notably, a number of major characters die throughout Season 4, Part 2, like Fiona Clarke (Francesca Faridany) in Episode 3. As fans of the show are well aware, however, death is more of a suggestion than a rule in "Manifest." In fact, at the climax of Part 2's final episode, the majority of the passengers on the fateful Flight 828 prove that their goodness as human beings outweighs their negative actions, and avert both their own and the world's destruction. They then travel back to a new timeline in 2013, where characters like Fiona who died earlier on are alive again.

However, during this universe-saving act, the Divine Consciousness does ultimately judge 11 passengers, including main antagonist Angelina Meyer (Holly Taylor), to be unworthy. They all dissolve into ash, their deaths now definitive unlike the rest of Flight 828.

Fans thought that Angelina deserved her fate

While the 10 other Flight 828 passengers who die alongside her are essentially insignificant bit players, Angelina is a major character throughout the series, making her death one of the final episode of "Manifest" Season 4, Part 2's major developments. Fans, as it turns out, were not so keen on Angelina's particularly toxic brand of villainy, and were excited to see her go in such a brutal, biblical fashion.

Twitter user @iAnk1t, for example, shared two screenshots of Angelina corroding into ash with the caption, "The most satisfying moment of this show." This received more than 3,600 likes. Users like @freddyvpb and @itsamshow used the word "satisfying" to describe Angelina's death and were each met with considerable engagement as well.

So, while in the end, only 11 characters' deaths are actually canonical, Angelina's death in "Manifest" Season 4, Part 2 is not just one of this final batch of episode's big moments, but a fate that plenty of fans thought was a long time coming.
