Fallout Live-Action TV Series Gets Official Premiere Date For Amazon Prime Video
Fans have eagerly waited for news on the release date for Amazon Prime's "Fallout" TV series, based on the best-selling video games. And now, they know to tune in on April 12, 2024, for the live-action show to debut. It's an appropriate date, as it's the 26th anniversary of the creation of "Fallout Day," a fan-made holiday to celebrate all things Fallout.
The Fallout X, formerly known as Twitter, account announced the release date with a short video of computer code occupying the screen before the franchise's mascot, Vault Boy, appears, typing something into a computer. It's an appropriately ominous and foreboding clip, playing into the games' postapocalyptic and technological aspects. But there's still no footage from the show, so fans will have to wait a little longer to see any of that.
While it's based on the games, the Amazon series will tell a completely original story that's still canon within the source material. It's arguably one of the most anticipated series set for release in 2024, and if the vibes stay in the same realm as this video, it's already on a good path.
The hype is already through the roof for Fallout fans
Whoever's in charge of the marketing for Amazon's "Fallout" series has done their homework. News of the release date dropped on October 23, called Bombs Drop Day in the Fallout universe. It's in reference to a global thermonuclear war that occurred on that day as a result of the Sino-American War.
Fallout players know this all too well, and the excitement for the show's scheduled release is palpable already. People seem ready to consume the series like a bottle of Nuka-Cola. X user @jayedtx exclaimed, "Y'ALL UNFOLLOW ME BEFORE THIS DATE IF U DON'T WANT UR TIMELINE FLOODED WITH THE FALLOUT SHOW JUST LETTING U KNOW IN ADVANCE OK THANK YOU." The all-caps words of praise continue with @MJ__Hernandez, "NEW FALLOUT TV SHOW COMING APRIL 12TH, 2024 I CANNOT WAIT LETS GOOOO."
After the success of "The Last of Us" HBO series and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," video game adaptations have done quite well as of late. Having a cast led by Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan, and Moisés Arias is just the icing on the cake. Until then, get ready for the end of the world all over again.
