The Boys Season 2 Casts Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnjic
When the boys come back, they'll have some extra company in tow.
Per Deadline, Amazon's The Boys has cast Claudia Doumit and Goran Višnjić on its upcoming second season.
Both actors are set for recurring roles on The Boys, based on the comic books by Preacher creator Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Doumit will play a "young wunderkind congresswoman" named Victoria Neuman, while Višnjić will bring to life the "charismatic and shadowy leader of a mysterious church," Alistair Adana.
Alongside their casting announcements came the news that Malcolm Barrett is reprising his role as Vought Marketing executive Seth Reed for season 2.
The Boys takes place in an alternate world in which celebrated, highly influential, and successful superheroes are actually fame-hungry and corrupt. A gang of vigilantes known as "the Boys" (the group does feature a woman, called "the Female") vows to expose their malfeasance using gumption, grit, and a no-holds-barred attitude.
For the second season, Doumit and Višnjić join core cast members Karl Urban as the leader of the Boys, Billy Butcher; Jack Quaid as Hugh "Hughie" Campbell; Laz Alonso as Marvin (also known as Mother's Milk); Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko (otherwise referred to as the Female), a mute member of the Boys; and Tomer Capon as Frenchie. They'll also share the screen with those who portray the members of the Seven, the premiere superhero squad managed by Vought International: Antony Starr as John (a.k.a. Homelander), Erin Moriarty as Annie January (a.k.a. Starlight), Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Chace Crawford as Kevin (a.k.a. the Deep), and Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir. Rounding out the Boys main cast is Elisabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwell, the vice president of Vought International.
The Boys season 2 is quite a special project for Doumit and Višnjić, as it serves as a reunion. The two previously worked together on the now-canceled series Timeless — which was co-created by Eric Kripke, who also created The Boys.
The show, which was released on Amazon Prime Video in late July 2019, has received rave reviews from critics and established a passionate fanbase that's sure to get hyped up over this casting news. Though details about what will go down during the second season of The Boys are sparse for the time being, something that's guaranteed is that the forthcoming episodes will feature even more pedal-to-the-medal action, witty dialogue, and plenty of bombast. Doumit and Višnjić are sure to help make the second season bigger and better than the first.
The Boys season 2 doesn't yet have a release date.
