Joss Whedon Reveals Which Of The Avengers Should Be President
Apparently just being powerful, rich, and famous isn't enough to win Joss Whedon's vote in the upcoming presidential election.
The director of 2012's The Avengers and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron made it clear who he would not be voting for this November in a star-studded PSA to launch his new organization Save the Day. But he recently took a lighter tone during a Facebook Live chat in which one fan asked him which member of the Avengers he would choose to run the country. If you're thinking Captain America is a shoo-in, think again.
"I'm probably going to have to go with Hawkeye," Whedon said. "There's a man who is grounded. He not only has family values, he has a family. He has an actual family. He actually interacts with human people in a normal way. He has children he wants to protect. Every other Avenger, let's face it: They're a little out there. A little bit disconnected from the real world."
Although likely not the most popular pick, Whedon probably does have a point. Neither Thor nor Black Widow were born in the U.S. (also Black Widow used to be an assassin), and Captain America seems too humble to ever accept the gig.
What about the others? Whedon has some thoughts that likely reflect the real world. "Definitely don't want Tony Stark to be president," Whedon said. "He may be the smartest guy there, and although I love Bruce Banner, I'm thinking, you know, again, as we've seen in this election cycle, somebody with a really bad temper is not maybe the best choice."
