Justice League Fans Have A Lot Of Thoughts About The New Snyder Cut Trailer
For fans of DC Comics and the cinematic DC Extended Universe, 2020 has been a year marked by the anticipation of Zack Snyder's Justice League, aka the fabled Snyder Cut, which is set to premiere on HBO Max in 2021. Fans have been getting a steady trickle of teases, reports about potentially exciting reshoots, and some truly shocking casting surprises. In August, the first teaser for the new version of Justice League was released, and now, we have yet another new trailer ... sort of.
The new trailer, which Snyder himself uploaded to his Vero account on November 17, is really just a slightly updated version of the first trailer that switches the color scheme to black and white and adds a few extra scenes. Some fans on social media noticed right away that, like the Snyder Cut itself, the new footage isn't exactly new. Twitter user @jondenbyca asked, "Did I miss something or is this the exact same trailer as a few months ago? I didn't notice anything all-new about it."
Those sentiments were shared by @ZBrag101, who tweeted, "Isn't this the same old trailer but black & White?" Not exactly! There are a few new shots, including a fresh look at Darkseid (Ray Porter), a character that will be original to the Snyder Cut. However, not everyone was blown away by the addition. User @StevenWHunter tweeted, "Darkseid still looking like he stepped out of a terrible video game."
But enough time with the haters. Even though not everyone was impressed with the updated trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, there were still plenty of fans who were picking up exactly what Snyder was laying down.
The new Snyder Cut trailer had many fans getting excited and emotional
Despite some detractors, many fans of Snyder's particular vision for the legendary DC superhero crew took to Twitter to share their enthusiasm for what the new trailer offered. For @MovieBuff100, the tweaks were just right. They wrote, "I didn't think you could the Trailer any more perfect, well you did."
Many fans expressed the raw emotional reaction they had to the new trailer. User @Josh2Gud4U said, "Thank you so much man. You got me in deep awe right now." Meanwhile, @22Callisto22 tweeted simply, "Tingles. Can not wait."
There were some moments that hit fans especially hard. A scene of Cyborg (Ray Fisher) palling around with some neighborhood kids made Twitter user @AdamofGotham declare, "That shot of Cyborg watching the kids play football. Got me in the feels Zack." For user @selinasfrost, it was all the dramatic shots of Superman/Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) that were added to the trailer. They said, "I finally get to see the real Clark again thank you king."
And user @stix44r captured the thoughts of many by tweeting, "That [trailer is] better than the 1st movie."
Hopefully, this fresh tease will help tide fans over until Zack Snyder's Justice League premieres on HBO Max in 2021.
