Teyonah Parris Can't Wait For WandaVision Fans To Learn This Character's Identity

Potential spoilers ahead for WandaVision!

In this age of streaming where most shows release all of their episodes for a season at the same time, adhering to a strict weekly format can cause issues. Fans want instant gratification, but as we're learning with WandaVision on Disney+, having patience can indeed prove to be a virtue.

With only one episode coming out a week, fans are left to pore over every detail, trying to figure out where this is all heading and who some characters actually are. Even before the show aired, people thought this story about Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) slowly descending into madness to try to hang onto her beloved Vision (Paul Bettany) was meant to set up the multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you frequently visit Reddit or TikTok, then you may have stumbled upon a bevy of fan theories from Ultron disguising himself as Hayward (Josh Stamberg) to Mephisto really being the one pulling all the strings within Wanda's sitcom world.

The ending of episode 6 really seemed to imply that Wanda would be the one to create mutants, and subsequently the X-Men in the MCU, but fans aren't content with just one introduction. One of the most persistent theories that's been around for weeks is that Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four will soon enter the fray. Earlier in the series, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) mentions a friend of hers who's an aerospace engineer, and we see her texting this friend shortly thereafter. The theory's gotten so popular that Parris herself has commented on the rumors.

Teyonah Parris mentions "things you don't expect" in relation to the mysterious aerospace engineer

Back in December 2020, Marvel Studios announced it was pushing ahead with a Fantastic Four reboot to be directed by Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home helmer Jon Watts. Since then, fans have waited with bated breath for more announcements in terms of casting, but that doesn't mean Marvel's first family will receive their introduction quite yet. There are many other characters who would also make sense (if not more sense) as the engineer, such as Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart, who will be played by Dominique Thorne in her own Disney+ seriesWandaVision has also gone to great lengths to establish S.W.O.R.D. as a counterpart to S.H.I.E.L.D., so the engineer could be commanding officer Abigail Brand from the comics.

Naturally, Parris doesn't say anything too shocking during her recent interview with ComicBook.com, but she does hype up the reveal by saying, "I can't wait to see what y'all's reaction is when you learn [who] the aerospace engineer is." WandaVision has already had its fair share of surprises so far, especially when it came to that major Pietro recast. There may only be three episodes left, but according to Parris, the show isn't letting up on the twists and turns anytime soon, promising, "There are so many little surprises, things you don't expect. So in keeping with the theme the show has already set up, I'm always excited."

Apparently, some fans may have already figured out the aerospace engineer's identity, as Parris explains, "I feel like there are some really hardcore, intuitive fans who are doing very well with ... there are some smart cookies, yeah." That doesn't exactly narrow it down, considering that fans have been guessing pretty much everyone under the Marvel sun, but at least some people out there will be able to shout, "I knew it" in a few weeks' time.

Keep watching WandaVision every Friday on Disney+ for more revelations. If there's one thing we'd be able to surmise, it's that the MCU is about to get a lot bigger.
