Han Solo Prequel To Begin Filming In February
Now that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally landed, there's still plenty on the horizon for fans of the franchise.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently spoke to the BBC (via JoBlo), and she confirmed that filming for the upcoming Han Solo prequel spin-off is set to begin in February.
Although next to nothing has been revealed about the plot, we do know a few things about the movie, which will follow Han Solo before he met up with the Skywalkers. Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) will star as the young smuggler with Donald Glover (Atlanta) set to play Lando Calrissian. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) has also signed on, but her part is still unclear. However, Chewbacca will also appear in the flick, and he's notoriously choosy about his roles.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie) will direct, based on a script co-written by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens). and all of that sounds really encouraging to us.
The movie is expected to arrive in May 2018, but we'll get Episode VIII before that in December 2017. While we wait, check out everything we think we know about Episode VIII.
