Falcon And Winter Soldier Fans Are Bracing Themselves For This Rumored Cameo In Episode 5
Marvel Cinematic Universe shows and movies have a long and proud tradition of cameos. So many stories feature guest appearances that it's difficult to consider an MCU property as complete without one. Granted, many films and shows feature obscure guest appearances, but that's more of an entertainment tradition. We're talking about stars from other Marvel media who help link the properties together in one expanded web. After all, if Iron Man didn't team up with Spider-Man, how would we ever know they live in the same world?
Audiences have been gearing up for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's fifth episode for quite a while since writer Malcolm Spellman stated during an interview on Rotten Tomatoes TV that a special character will appear in that episode. Now that episode 4 has dropped, viewers have one week to wait until this legendary cameo rocks their socks. But who will be making the cameo? Who could be so special and deserving of the hype? Audiences have gathered around one particular theory, despite its lack of credibility.
Some fans are expecting posthumous Chadwick Boseman cameo
When Malcolm Spellman discussed the rumored episode 5 cameo, he described the character as "very, very grounded," yet he also expressed a desire to pair this mystery person up with "world shakers" such as Thor. Apparently, Spellman believes the guest star's personality would be more than a match for the Asgardian Lord of Thunder, so they would make for quite the duo. Given this description — and the appearance of the Wakandan royal guard's Ayo (Florence Kasumba) in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 3 — some Twitter users have theorized that a posthumous cameo from Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa is inevitable.
While seeing Boseman play King T'Challa one last time would be a dream come true, he is, quite frankly, the least likely possibility. T'Challa has a personality that could subdue the Hulk, but he isn't exactly "grounded" — that's not the word you use to describe a man who rules a hidden kingdom powered by fictional space metal. Moreover, Spellman explicitly said that he would love to see the episode 5 guest team up with Thor, which precludes Boseman.
But, if that's not enough for you, famed Marvel Twitter leaker Charles Murphy, who has a fairly reliable track record, said point-blank that Boseman won't show up in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. So currently, it's anyone's guess who will appear in episode 5, so long as that guess isn't Boseman.
