Impractical Jokers Season 10 - What We Know So Far
From Jackass to Punk'd, there's a rich legacy of television prank shows. It's a winning formula, and the current champs of making people think twice when something weird happens to them in a public setting are the jokesters on truTV's Impractical Jokers.
For nine seasons and a movie, they've kept the good times rolling with stunts that keep things light and breezy for the "victims." Actually, the only people who usually look like fools at the end of the episode are the members of the Jokers. They end up embarrassing themselves most of the time, and the people just walking by get to be witnesses to their humiliation.
Not even a pandemic could stop the comics from filming new episodes, with season 9 debuting on February 4, 2021. The gang hasn't run out of prank ideas yet, as the series has officially been renewed for season 10 (via TV Series Finale). Here's everything we know about the next season so far.
What's the release date for Impractical Jokers season 10?
Considering the show's still in the midst of its ninth season, there's still no official release date for season 10, and truTV's been keeping mum. The good news is that you can still tune in to new episodes regularly when you need your fix of hilarious hijinks after a year off.
There was a year-long gap between seasons 8 and 9 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a major change of pace for the series, which normally churns out new episodes fairly quickly. For example, Impractical Jokers season 7 ended in November of 2018, and season 8 premiered just a few months later in March of 2019 (via epguides.com). With cities gradually opening back up, we'd expect Impractical Jokers to go back to its normal schedule.
Season 9 will likely end later this year, with season 10 debuting sometime around February or March of 2022, but that's just an educated guess.
Who's in the cast for Impractical Jokers season 10?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
For nine seasons, most of the pranks on the show have been performed by the sketch comedy troupe, The Tenderloins, which consists of James "Murr" Murray, Sal Vulcano, Joe Gatto, and Brian "Q" Quinn. These guys have actually been friends for years, having gone to the same Catholic high school together. They got into plenty of trouble together before going their separate ways for college. Years later, they would reunite and make the world laugh together. They had a failed pilot Spike TV passed on, but they gained newfound success when truTV decided to run with a prank show they came up with.
We'd expect the four friends to return for season 10, but there are always guests who stop by to get in on the fun. Past jokesters have included the likes of Jeff Daniels, Jameela Jamil, and Gary Busey. No word on which famous actors may make cameos in season 10, but considering the show is more popular than ever, we'd assume they could get some pretty impressive names.
What kind of pranks can we expect from Impractical Jokers season 10?
Each episode of Impractical Jokers involves a series of games wherein the Jokers humiliate themselves in front of an audience who has no idea what's really going on. From asking for toilet paper in a crowded restaurant to trying to get other people to take the blame when they fart, there have been plenty of excellent bits over the years, and with season 10, you can be confident there will be more instances of pratfalls, gross-out humor, and testing the boundaries of people's patience.
There are numerous instances of times the Jokers took things too far, almost earning some richly deserved beat-downs. Luckily, these guys are charmers who can usually get out of a sticky situation before it escalates any further. If you've liked what you've seen so far from the first nine seasons of Impractical Jokers, then season 10 should continue to be right up your alley.
