Gotham Trailer Finally Refers To Jerome As A Joker
Although Gotham has never outright said that Cameron Monaghan's "Jerome" would serve as the proto-Joker on the prequel series, a promo for the Season 3 winter finale sure seems to confirm it.
The "white-band" trailer for next week's "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies" recaps the recent history of the character (which has been pretty crazy) and refers to him as "this joker." While it should be noted that the trailer doesn't call him "the" Joker, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better contender at this point. Monaghan is all but doing a Heath Ledger impression.
Here's the official synopsis for the episode: "With Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan) on the loose with one target in mind, Bruce and Alfred's safety is compromised. Meanwhile, Gordon's uncle Frank (guest star James Remar) pays him a visit, and Nygma and Penguin are forced to confront their issues face-to-face, with possible deadly consequences."
The winter finale airs Jan. 30 on FOX. In the meantime, check out how Gotham's characters should really look according to the comics.
